Culturetech & Last of the Name – Sept 14 at Sandino’s

‘The Last of the Name’ is a multi-media creation which combines Social History with Contemporary Music, Visuals and Technology.  It is inspired by the book by Clonmany weaver Charles McGlinchey who died in 1955.  His book has been hailed by Brian Friel, and by Seamus Heaney – who described it as “full of emotional truth and the beauty of immediate, trusting speech, overbrimming with folklore of great imaginative richness”.

This performance will include:

Ø  the words of Charles McGlinchey,

Ø  the music and songs of Finbarr Doherty, and

Ø  the visuals of Inishowen – the places and the people.
